Kymi
Kymi has wonderful views to the Sea.
The beach of Kymi, which is the harbor of the area, is also a resort and is connected to Skyros, Northern Sporades and Limnos by daily ferry line.
In Kymi is and Chili, a picturesque village resort, with quirky, rocky coast, where the residents keep their boats hanging with ropes and improvised cranes so to have access to the sea. In Kymi is also Honefto with sources of drinkable healing waters.
In the area is the historic church of Our Lady of Oxylithos, a monument that is a "cultural" heritage not only for Oxylithos but also for whole of Evia.
You can swim at the beaches of Kymi, Platanas and Stomio.
Close to Kymi and north of Potamia community of Evia are the remains of an important settlement, developed in classical and Hellenistic periods. The earliest traces of habitation in the place are dating to the Neolithic period (4th millennium BC), as indicated by the surface finds, traced on the south side of the hill. |
